Thomas More was a brilliant English lawyer and a councilor and friend to King Henry VIII. He passionately opposed the kings ideas of reforming the Church in England, and was beheaded for it. However, More was always a true man of God who could still honor his king. I die the kings good servant, but Gods first, were his last words. Mores book, Utopia, addresses various social topics and is widely studied to this day.Feast Day: June 22Patronage: Lawyers, Politicians, Statesmen
