To foster deep devotion to Saint Joseph amongCatholics, and in response to the May Day celebrations for workers sponsored by Communists, Pope Pius XII instituted the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker in 1955. This feast extends the long relationship between Joseph and the cause of workers in both Catholic faith and devotion. Beginning in the Book of Genesis, the dignity of human work has long been celebrated as a participation in the creative work of God. By work, humankind both fulfills the command found in Genesis to care for the earth (Gn 2:15) and to be productive in their labors. Saint Joseph, the carpenter and foster father of Jesus, is but one example of the holiness of human labor. The St. Joseph the Worker statue is fully hand carved and hand painted with oil colors.Although some sizes are in stock, please allow stated delivery days to arrive from Italy.Item is handmade & handpainted - slight variations in color from provided picture may occurAvailable in the following sizes: SizeDelivery DaysMaterial6"14Woodcarved in maple wood8"14Woodcarved in maple wood10"14Woodcarved in maple wood12"14Woodcarved in maple wood16"14Woodcarved in maple wood18"14Woodcarved in linden wood24"14Woodcarved in linden wood32"30Woodcarved in linden wood39"30Woodcarved in linden wood49"90Woodcarved in linden wood71"90Woodcarved in linden woodStatues over 43" will incur a flat customs and freight chargeStatue customization is available - sizes, coloring, design, and more - pleasecontact usfor a quote and timeline.
